For an extensive list on where to get fish and other essential supplies, you can visit ebayclassifieds. There are a number of benefits associated with keeping fish as pets, and we are going to look at just a couple of them.

Keeping Fish as Pets

Fish are beautiful, first and foremost. Even the uglier or weirder species are truly stunning in their own way. By keeping fish you are creating a little ecosystem in your home that you can take care of. There are actually several different types of fish ecosystems that you can create including freshwater community tanks, brackish water cichlid tanks and saltwater marine tanks. These can be further broken down such as coral reef tanks, planted tanks and so on.

As long as you choose species that all get along well with one another, commonly referred to as community fish, then there is no reason why you cannot have a beautiful aquarium well stocked with stunning, gorgeous and colorful fish. You will be able to watch them interact with one another, eat and go about their day. If you are interested in science or the creation of an ecosystem, then this is especially ideal for you.

Fish can be a little difficult to maintain, but maintaining the water chemistry and keeping your wish happy are actually two of the most rewarding tasks. If you want a pet that you can truly be proud to nurture, then a fish tank is a good way to go.

Snakes that Don’t Eat Mice

Snakes make really interesting pets. Unfortunately, many people are turned off by the prospect because most species require feeding of mice, rats and even rabbits for sustain them. Luckily, some species do not eat rodents at all!

Snakes that Don’t Eat Mice

Ribbon snakes and garter snakes are two examples of beautiful, domesticated snakes that do not require mice or other rodents to live. These snakes are small and prefer to dwell in trees or bushes. Their favorite snacks are insects like crickets and small fish.

One of the best set ups for a garter or ribbon snake is an artificial tree overlooking a water feature. The bottom of the terrarium can be half solid ground and half water, for example. The water does not have to be too deep, but should be deep enough that it can house small goldfish or feeder fish. You can add crickets or feeder fish to the vivarium, and the snake will feed on them when she is good and ready.

Both ribbon snakes and garter snakes are simple looking but beautiful, and they come in a range of colors with stripes running lengthwise down their bodies. They may not be as exotic looking as a leucistic ball python or an amazon tree boa, but they are certainly quite attractive in their own way, especially when you consider that they will never be big enough to require eating rodents as prey, and are perfectly satisfied snacking on fish and insects instead for the rest of their lives.
